Scriptly ("Scriptly", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Scriptly mobile application and website.
Scriptly is a teleprompter and content creation tool designed to help creators write, organize, schedule, and record video content.
We believe your creative work should remain yours. Scriptly does not require you to create an account to use the app, and your scripts are stored locally on your device.
By using Scriptly, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We aim to collect only the information necessary to provide Scriptly's features, maintain the app, and improve its reliability.
Depending on how you use Scriptly, the app may access or process the following:
Script content
Microphone input
Camera input
Photos, where you choose to save or access recordings
Notifications, if you enable them
Subscription and purchase information
Technical and diagnostic information, if applicable
The specific information processed depends on the features you use and the permissions you grant.
2. Scripts and Content
Scripts that you create in Scriptly are stored locally on your device.
Scriptly does not require an account or a cloud account to create, save, or use your scripts.
We do not upload your scripts to our servers or sell, rent, or license your script content to third parties.
Your scripts may contain personal information or other sensitive information that you choose to enter. You are responsible for the content you put into Scriptly.
If you delete Scriptly or remove its local app data, scripts stored locally by the app may also be deleted.
3. Microphone and Voice Data
Scriptly uses your device's microphone to provide its voice-following teleprompter functionality.
When you use the voice-following feature, Scriptly processes your speech locally so that the teleprompter can identify your position in the script and advance as you speak.
Microphone access is only used when you use features that require it.
Scriptly does not use your microphone to listen to you when you are not actively using a feature that requires microphone access.
Voice processing occurs entirely on your device. Scriptly does not upload or store your voice recordings or microphone audio on external servers.
We do not use voice or microphone data for advertising.
4. Camera and Video Recordings
Scriptly uses your device's camera when you choose to record a video.
Camera access is used to provide the recording functionality of the app.
Videos you record using Scriptly are saved according to your device's settings and the permissions you provide.
Scriptly does not upload your recorded videos to our servers.
Scriptly does not use your recorded videos for advertising or sell your recorded videos to third parties.
5. Photos Access
Scriptly may request access to your Photos library when a feature requires it, such as saving or accessing video content.
You control this permission through Apple's system settings.
Scriptly only accesses Photos according to the permissions you grant.
You can change or revoke Photos access at any time through: iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Scriptly
6. Apple Watch
Scriptly may provide features through Apple Watch, including controls for recording and teleprompter settings.
When you use Apple Watch functionality, information necessary for the feature to operate may be exchanged between your iPhone and Apple Watch.
Scriptly does not use Apple Watch data for advertising.
7. Notifications
If you enable notifications, Scriptly may send notifications related to features you have chosen to use, such as scheduled content or reminders.
Notifications are optional.
You can disable Scriptly notifications at any time through your device settings.
8. Subscriptions and Purchases
Scriptly may offer an optional paid subscription called Scriptly Pro.
Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and Apple's In-App Purchase system.
Scriptly does not collect or store your full payment card information.
Apple processes payments and manages your App Store purchase information in accordance with Apple's privacy policies and terms.
Apple may provide developers with limited information relating to purchases and subscriptions, such as information necessary to manage access to purchased functionality.
For information about how Apple handles personal information, please see Apple's Privacy Policy.
9. Technical and Diagnostic Information
We may receive limited technical information necessary to operate, maintain, and improve Scriptly through Apple's built-in developer tools (such as Xcode and TestFlight diagnostics). Depending on your device settings, this may include:
App version
iOS version
Device model
Crash information
Performance information
Error information
We do not use technical information to build advertising profiles about you.
10. Analytics
Scriptly does not currently use third-party analytics services to track how you use the app.
11. Third-Party Services
Scriptly relies on Apple as our primary platform provider for app distribution, In-App Purchases, and standard diagnostic/crash reporting.
Where third parties process information on our behalf, we expect them to process that information only for the purposes for which they are engaged and to provide appropriate protection for user information. Apple's guidelines require apps to disclose third parties with whom user data is shared and to ensure those parties provide appropriate protection for user data.
12. Information We Do Not Sell
We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell:
Your scripts
Your videos
Your voice recordings
Your camera recordings
We do not use your creative content to build advertising profiles.
13. How We Use Information
Information processed through Scriptly may be used to:
Provide the app's functionality
Enable the voice-following teleprompter
Enable video recording
Save your scripts locally
Provide scheduling and reminder functionality
Process and manage subscriptions
Diagnose crashes and technical problems via Apple diagnostics
Improve app performance
Respond to support requests
Protect the security and integrity of the service
Comply with applicable legal requirements
We do not use your scripts or recorded content for purposes unrelated to providing or improving Scriptly without your permission.
14. Data Retention
Because your scripts are stored locally on your device, Scriptly does not maintain a server-side copy of your scripts.
Subscription and purchase information may be retained by Apple according to Apple's applicable policies and requirements.
Where we control the retention of personal information, we retain it only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.
15. Deleting Your Data
Because Scriptly does not require an account and your scripts are stored locally, there is no Scriptly account that you need to delete.
You can remove locally stored Scriptly data by deleting the relevant content from the app or, where applicable, deleting Scriptly from your device.
If you have contacted us directly for support, you may request deletion of correspondence history by contacting greystudios233@gmail.com.
We may need to verify your request before completing it. Some information may need to be retained where required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
16. Your Privacy Choices
You control the permissions you grant Scriptly. You can enable or disable access to:
Microphone
Camera
Photos
Notifications
Other device permissions requested by Scriptly
You can change these permissions at any time through your iPhone's settings. Please note that disabling certain permissions may prevent related Scriptly features from functioning. Apple also provides system-level privacy controls that allow you to manage access to sensitive device resources such as the microphone and camera.
17. Children's Privacy
Scriptly is not specifically directed toward children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at greystudios233@gmail.com so that we can review the situation and take appropriate action.
18. International Users
Scriptly may be available to users around the world. Depending on where you are located, diagnostic data managed by Apple may be processed in accordance with Apple's global privacy standards. Apple's App Store guidelines also require developers to comply with applicable privacy laws in the locations where their apps are available.
19. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information that we control from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Because your scripts are stored locally on your device, you should also use appropriate device security measures, such as a device passcode and Apple's available security features.
20. Third-Party Websites
Scriptly's website may contain links to websites operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of third-party websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of those websites before providing them with personal information.
21. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as Scriptly develops, our services change, or applicable legal requirements change. When we make changes, we will update the Last updated date at the top of this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes to how we collect or use personal information, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
22. Apple App Store
Scriptly is distributed through Apple's App Store. Your use of Scriptly is also subject to Apple's applicable terms and policies. Apple's App Store privacy requirements require developers to accurately disclose their data practices in App Store Connect, including data collected through the app and through third-party partners.
